From my point of view, to become a suitable teacher of a foreign language, both native or non-native teachers should have gone through the process of learning at least one language. It would be even better if native speakers could speak the language of their students.
About non-native speakers, they should be aware of their weaknesses and if they have resources as cd's, dvd's and the internet they should use them often enough in order to make sure their students are exposed to real situations in which native speakers are involved. If they don't have access to IT's they can always use a dictionary, read phonetics before each lesson and make sure they pronounce the target words of each teaching unit properly.
Personally I think that what makes a good teacher is not their mother tongue but their interest, responsibility and willingness to help students. Along with energy and will to learn without stop. How can we make students study if we don't study ourselves?

My Experience in Teaching English
Hello Everyone!
This is the first time that I am writing in a blog. I thought it will be the best to begin with sharing my experience. I am an Elementary school English teacher. Actually I am not a good writer. I always get difficulties in sharing something, because I always keep a privacy. But, in my new blog I will try to write, share and tell something about me. I will begin with my experience in teaching English.
In my school, I teach English from the first grade to the sixth grade students. I teach them for two hours each class for a week.There are about 125 students with different age and character. I have to adapt with them.
English for my students is one of difficult subject matters, because it is a second language for them that they never heard before. I use different method in teaching English. For example for the the first to the third grade students, I apply Total physical Respon Method, GTM(Grammar Translation Method) and Audio/Visual Method. For the fourth to sixth grade students, I use GTM and Audio/Visual method. Although I have used kinds of method, my students still can not answer an English test well.
Actually, I have some problems in teaching the students, especially students in the first grade. They always do not pay attention to me and make some noises. I have used something to attract them by using picture, song, and sometime I give them a gift like candy to student who can answer my question, but most of them still make some noises. So, what should I do to control my class?. I think that's all.I think to be a blogger is fun. Next time, I'll write more about my experience.
